The Foundations in Accountancy (FIA) programme provides a flexible entry route into the accountancy profession. It’s designed for those starting their journey in finance or accounting and can lead to the ACCA Qualification. It's open to everyone – there are no academic entry requirements.
After completing the ACCA Diploma in Accounting and Business (or Foundation Diploma if you reside in Bangladesh or Pakistan), you may be able to progress to the ACCA Qualification and receive exemptions from the Applied Knowledge exams. For more information about FIA and how it fits into the ACCA qualification pathway, visit the Foundations in Accountancy overview page.

To complete your application, you’ll need:
Proof of identification, such as a driver's licence, national ID card, passport, or birth certificate.

What you need to know?
Joint Exam Schemes
In some countries, ACCA works with national accountancy bodies through Joint Exam Schemes. If this applies to you, you may need to register with your local exam body as well as with ACCA. See the Joint Examination Schemes list or read our article: Find out more about Joint Exam Scheme partnerships.
Exemptions
You may be able to apply for exemptions depending on your previous qualifications.
Learn more in our article Learn about exemptions, and use the exemption calculator to check your eligibility.
Minimum age
Parental consent requirements depend on your age and where you live. If you live in Kenya, Indonesia, Malaysia or the Philippines, parental consent is required for students aged 13–17.
If you live elsewhere
Parental consent is required only if you are 13, 14, or 15 at the time of registration.
