Apprenticeships involve three key stakeholders: the apprentice, the employer, and the learning provider. 

 

Each plays a specific role at different stages of the apprenticeship. 

 

Employer

 

The employer's role is to: 

 

  • Provide at least 30 hours per week of relevant work experience.

  • Cover apprentice’s on-programme exam fees, as well as any potential resits of the end point assessment (EPA).

  • Cover registration and subscription fees.

  • Support development of professional skills, behaviours and workplace training.

  • Confirm apprentice is ready for the EPA by signing the Gateway Access Form 

 

Learning Provider 

 

The learning provider's role is to:

 

  • Deliver tuition for exams.

  • Monitor development.

  • Book and pay for the EPA exam. 

 

Apprentice 

 

The apprentice's role is to:

 

  • Register with ACCA.

  • Study for and sit on-programme exams.

  • Engage with learning provider and employer, ensuring they’re on track to complete the apprenticeship.

  • Complete EPA components. 

 

Once the apprenticeship is complete, ACCA shares the results with the Education & Skills Funding Agency (ESFA), who issues the official apprenticeship certificate.
